I hope you have enjoyed the pics above taken while at the Ohio District Convention. There are a few more which may show up later. As you can see the local church in Castalia, OH has been truly blessed with a beautiful building. Although they have been in the building for several years, they have been working for the last year or so and have made several improvements. As Brother Graves would tell us this is CPMA work! Church property beautification is such an important part of local CPMA work because it helps make our properties attractive and inviting to those who may be considering a place to attend church.
Brother Ron Legg, the local pastor and District Overseer, was a great host and did a terrific job moderating the convention and helping to create an atmosphere of worship that got all the people involved in giving glory to God!
During the convention we enjoyed sermons from Brother Legg, Brother Levi Stephens and Brother Donald Estep II, as well as great auxiliary boosts from Sister Sharon Griffin and Brother Gary Graves. During Sister Griffins boost, as she had been preaching under a powerful anointing, the Holy Ghost began to move among the people and moved us all to prayer and worship. There was a Holy Ghost Message in tongues and interpretation which encouraged us all!
Brother Graves as always was very informative and told us some good church history in addition to boosting the work. Brother Graves loves the history of The Church of God and believes it is important for us all to have a sense of where we come from AND where we are going in Christ.
We were blessed also to have Sister Juana Williams and her sons Junior and Jary with us. They are from Columbus, OH and we are working with them to try and see a Spanish work started in that area. Sister Williams gave a stirring testimony of how God has brought her home to The Church of God.
***UPDATE***
We also were blessed to have Brother Chris Newport the Regional Assembly Band Movement coordinator and his wife Sister Lisa. Brother Chris continued with the theme of "Go To Them", encouraging us each to reach out to anyone who was once a part of our number but is no longer, whatever the reson. Whether it be one who is backslidden, or one who has simply chosen to go to another church, we should go to them and do our best to win them back!
The convention was well attended by folks from the area. Ohio is a state where we are working to see some much needed growth in the coming months. We have only two churches at present but there is great potential in Columbus with the Spanish work, and we hope to make more contacts in the near future to help us build a solid foundation for great growth in the state.

I also want to mention that the local church were a blessing and provided a great meal and fellowship!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good report from Ohio. A timely boost from the ABM coordinator, to reach out, "Go To Them" "whatever the reason"! Please Lord help us to hear this.
